This photo of a lion eating a cape buffalo was taken in Kruger National Park, South Africa in August 2017. On our last day in the area, we heard reports of a pride of lions eating a kill near our campus. We took the vehicles out and came across this male enjoying a nice tasty meal of buffalo while the rest of his pride looked on with mouths watering. We were even lucky enough to experience this lion fight with one of the young males in the pride.
